Collection: Horse Chestnut

Horse Chestnut is generally considered a soft hardwood or a low-density hardwood. It is known for being relatively soft, easy to work with, and having a smooth, fine texture more commonly known as the conker tree. Mature horse chestnut trees grow to a height of around 40m and can live for up to 300 years. The wood is not as strong as other timbers and it absorbs moisture, so it has poor resistance to decay. Horse chestnut is specifically prized for turning bowls.
