Collection: Yew

Yew is a soft wood but it is exceptionally hard and dense, often considered harder than many of the hardwoods. It's known for its toughness, resilience, and ability to withstand significant force. Its high oil content can make it a little tricky to work with, but yew is highly valued for its strength and durability

Yew wood has a fascinating history. It has been a cherished resource for centuries, used to craft longbows that changed the course of medieval battles. The yew is one of the longest-lived native species in Europe. Yew has a reputation for being indestructible, but it may be susceptible to root rot. It planes, sands and oils well. It's very stable, though it doesn’t  much with moisture content changes.

Yew wood is rare for us to come across.
